“Insane Value”

Despite arriving in pouring rain which barely let up during my entire stay, the guest house (and cottage) were warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean. I had a lovely time relaxing with a coffee in the mornings, watching the birds building their nests and enjoying the view. During my stay I experienced ‘load shedding’ (which for those new to it as I was means the power companies performing rolling blackouts…bless them) but Impangele were well prepared and have a generator to keep the lights on and the coffee machine running.

I think the only thing more impressive than the value for money is the host’s encyclopaedic knowledge of the area – I challenge you to ask a question about the area which illicits a response of ‘I don’t know…’, it won’t happen!

I can’t recommend a stay at Impangele enough – the kind of service and value that I only wish existed in the UK!

“Great, as ever!”

My wife and I make a point of staying at Impangele when we are in the Western Cape. We have stayed there a few times now and we are never disappointed. The standard of the accommodation is very high, with their themed rooms. Our favourite is the Leopard room – the attention to detail is fantastic. Dave and Amanda always extend a warm welcome, and Dave’s breakfasts are legendary! The bonus is the price they charge is very reasonable indeed. Impangele makes a great base from which to explore Swellendam and the surrounding, very beautiful, countryside

“A great B&B in Swellendam”

Impangele was a great choice for us on our Garden Route trip from Cape Town to Knysna. As we were 3 friends, the cottage was the best choice for us, with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen and little lounge. Amanda and Dave are such warm, interesting hosts and they have a passion not only for their B&B but for the community they live and work in. The breakfast was really top class, with loads to choose from and it was lovely to sit on the stoep and share it with the visiting birds. We were sorry to leave the next morning and would have loved to stay longer. Loved Amanda’s attention to detail in all the other rooms in the house – quirky and fun!

“Great hospitality in Swellendam”

We loved our stay at Impangele B&B. Amanda and David were fabulous hosts, and made us feel so at home and relaxed. The rooms are quirky and fun, and patio breakfasts outside under the grapevine, with sunbirds coming in to feed were lovely. The B&B is located far enough away from the main street to be secluded and quiet, but within easy reach of the good cafes and restaurants. Excellent value for money, we look forward to our return visit.

“Great hospitality – great local knowledge”

We stayed for one night whilst on a tour of the sourthern Cape but received one of the warmest welcomes of the many places we stayed during our trip. As it was a Sunday Amanda advised us that it would be better to book a restaurant. She suggested various options and then booked for us and it turned out to be the best meal of our holiday. Extensive breakfast in a lovely setting and we enjoyed their company so much it was difficult to leave. However we had to move on and followed their advice to visit Monkey Land and Birds of Eden which turned out to be a wonderful experience. All in all we couldn’t have asked for any more.

Stayed January 2012, travelled as a couple

Great hospitality

Dave and Amanda welcomed me a like a long lost family member! The guesthouse is fantastic and great value for money. Great response time on email and phone… within 5 minutes of calling, I had a room. Highly recommended

Best Breakfast of the Holiday

David and Amanda greeted us like old friends and immediately invited us to join them for a drink on the front veranda. A very amusing couple with a great sense of humour and fun. The rooms are a delight and you spot something different every time you look around. There were 4 of us and we had the leopard and zebra rooms and frankly the only things missing were an actual leopard and zebra (thankfully!) Excellent advice from Amanda about eating in the town and she even booked a table for us – what a meal we had! The following morning we were given the best breakfast we’d had in South Africa – stupendous! Being a birdwatcher I couldn’t believe my eyes when the staggeringly beautiful Cape Sugarbirds and Sunbirds were feeding on the nectar feeder four feet from the table – wow! If you fancy the best full English breakfast in the Cape with a sense of fun and brilliant birdlife then stay here!

African Stay at Swellendam

On our way from Plettenberg bay to Cape town and back to cold and wet Holland we stayed a night at Impangele B&B . It was a nice experience thanks to Dave and Amanda who are great hosts. We had just arrived in the aftrernoon and inside the hour we were sharing a bottle of red wine with them and watching all types of birds drinking sugar water on there beautiful terras. Our room was named Leopared and we soon realised why because everything in the room were in leopard colours/style which was amazing. They recommended Sabine for dinner and this was a excellent choice. The breakfast in the morning was good and very filling. Considering the price we payed this is a very good bargin and we would certainly go back.

Sweet Little Guest House

We only stayed 1 night but had a really nice time. Dave and Amanda were very welcoming and great hosts. Dave very kindly met us in town and treated us to a pint at his local, which was a very nice touch. It was called the Full stop cafe and the pizza was brilliant. They even named 2 of the pizzas after Dave and Amanda. The breakfast was excellent, loads of choice and lovely setting on the veranda overlooking the mountains – very idyllic.
